Sources For Free Game Downloading

The gamers of the world today are constantly seeking for better and more foolproof sources to download games for free or atleast without being broke. Since there is already so much of curiosity and concerns about safety of free games download, let us further explore the nooks and corners of the web space where availing quality games of choice is still a possibility. And this without the concerns of unintentional downloads of spyware, adware or viruses. The following article discloses a few great resource links to free games download.

The following are three sites I came across on running a comprehensive search online. However note that even if most games you come across are freely available online, they may not be the full versions, rather a demo version. To get your hands on the full version, you'll have to subscribe to the site. Post subscribing to a download scheme on the website, there may be millions of free games download worthy, but if you have your heart set on one particular game then chuck the subscription and roll yourself in for a monthly subscription of just that game. It'll cost you a mere 20$ bill and is a much more reasonable way of reaping the benefits of online games.

Shockwave.com
Shockwave is not a recent happening in the world of free games download. Hardcore gamers will most probably be aware of the site and recommend it to you. So addictive is the site, that as per statistics, shockwave has more than a whooping 60,000 players online at all times. In a month alone, shockwave literally sends its waves across as much as 20 million players who download everything from sportive games, action games, puzzles to shooting games, word and jigsaw games. No mean feat!

The site also offers a premium scheme called the Shockwave Unlimited wherein users can download more than 300 games from the portal. The service is also inclusive of a 10 day free trial. Owing to the scheme a user is allowed to download an unlimited amount of full version games.

Miniclip.com
Miniclip.com allows you to avail of a free games download service. The games you can download here can be classified into sports, action, flash sequences, multiplayer games, puzzles, etc. What never fails to impress us about the site is the regular addition of the latest games in the market. So there isn't a question of neither monotony nor boredom. Here you'll get to download free games like 3 Foot Ninja II, Bush Aerobics, Sub Commander, Alien Attack, Disc Golf, Family Feud and Hostile Skies. Like the sound of the names? We bet the games are just as good!

GameHouse.com
This is my third and last suggestion of a free games download source. Here you have games like the Secrets of Spooky Manor, Little Shop of Treasures 2, the latest editions of Monopoly, Mortimer Beckett, Interpol: The trail of Dr. Chaos and much more. The subscription offers a scheme where you pay a monthly fee of .95 dollar so as to access a bounty of over 300 games all of which can be availed of in their full versions.

In web space, sky is truly the limit.

Dressy Woman: Free Dress Up Game

Though I did worry that the eyes of this dress up model might turn upon me and draw the soul out of my body whilst I decided what eyeshadow looked best on her, this is a dress up / make up game worth the time you'll spend playing it - unless you're a child, in which case this game is likely to make you feel inadequate as a human being.

The issues I take with Dressy Woman do not relate to the game play or the execution of the dress up system. Both are done fairly well for games in this genre. The clothing simply requires that you click on it to put it on, and the make up system is very simple indeed. There are icons for things like hair, eye color, eye lashes, mascara, etc, etc, etc and you simply click the icon repeatedly until you find a style you like. It's an approach that greatly simplifies the interface and makes the game very simple to play.

The game itself also boasts something of a story line. You are a participant on a fashion show and you must dress for a range of scenarios. It's a nice premise, and one they could have taken further and perhaps will in future editions.

However, that's where the fairytale ends. In the first round, you are challenged to dress up to impress a date, but warned not to be vulgar or too modest. It's like the 1950's all over again! If you manage to impress your date, he gives you flowers and a message pops up announcing 'Congratulations, He's impressed by your beauty!' If you fail, you get this lovely missive. 'Unfortunately, the clothes you've chosen put the boy off making the acquaintance of you. Try again.' Ha! Take that people who say that beauty is on the inside! Boys will only talk to you if you impress them!

The messages contained in this game are wildly misogynistic, even for fashion games, which often tend to the inane in the first place. For example, in the second round, you must dress up for a pool party, at which the game informs us, 'Your clothes must help you attract attention and make the acquaintance of all the boys at the party'. Unless our dress up doll is searching for a prime mate to continue the species, this message seems a little heavy.

Fortunately however, failing to appeal to all the boys merely results in a message of 'Your clothing is not appropriate,' or something similar, not the 'No boys wanted to talk to you - go take more clothes off until you are acceptable to them'.

Even if you don't care that the game promotes the idea that women only dress up to impress men, like other fashion games with storyline and levels, the game seems to end prematurely, after only three rounds, and similarly to other fashion games 'Hollywood Style Maker', I'm looking at you, the last round is by far the easiest.

In summary, I suppose this game is fine if you want a slick, short dress up game. If you take objection to the idea that women only dress to please men however, I'd give this game a miss. It would have been so easy to make a game like this without the frequent woman slamming, one can only assume that the writers are stuck in a time warp somewhere and probably need help escaping.
